With two dozen of its S&S-designed 36 foot-daysailers either built or on order, Morris Yachts is reprising the concept with a slightly larger version. “The yacht should appeal to the same group who have been drawn to the M-36,” says Cuyler Morris, “but this larger yacht will have a bit more in the way of interior accommodations.” This includes over-6-foot headroom, a large main saloon, a galley, a head, and a forward V-berth. The sail-handling arrangements are similar to those of the M-36, with all control lines, sheets, and halyards led under the deck to winch pods mounted on either side of the cockpit near the helmsman’s station. Electric self-tailing winches are standard, as are a mechanical vang and a self-contained hydraulic backstay adjuster. A Yanmar 39-horsepower diesel with saildrive is also standard. Teak decks, of course, remain optional.
