Skylge

Skylge—the Frisian name for the Dutch island of Terschelling—was launched last summer and after commissioning left for Spain and a winter in the Caribbean. Designed by Andre Hoek and built in aluminum, the yacht is intended to be both competitive as a racer and suitable for family cruising. Built to MCA standards, the yacht’s interior features an owner’s stateroom, a VIP suite, two guest cabins, and generous amounts of deck space. The striking profile features low freeboard, long overhangs, and a modest pilothouse.

The yacht carries a carbon rig, a high-aspect mainsail, and a big roach on its foresail. The lifting keel reduces draft from 16 feet to just under 10 feet.
